Apple Networking:
Reset an Airport Base Station to factory defaults
- Install and run your Airport Utility (Click here for Windows)
- Update the Airport Utility (if connected to the Internet)
- Connect the Airport to a computer by direct Ethernet connection.
- Unplug the base station from power.
- Press and hold the reset button with a straightened paperclip, then plug the base station back in while continuing to hold the button
for approximately 5 secondsuntil you see the three status lightsglowcome on, then go back off, then start to come on again (re-initializing.) - Release the button. The base station will factory default reset.
- You should now see the default "Base Station" appear in the Airport list of your Airport Utility.
